Cutting Mid-Bulk - Cardio, FBW plan!

Currently bulking, decided on a month-long cut before continuing.

Was wondering if anyone had any advice on my plan for the cut as I'd like, obviously, to keep as much of the gained muscle as possible whilst getting rid of as much of the gained fat as possible.

Been doing 3xFBW on 2950 kcal's on WO days n 2800 kcal's on non-WO days.

For the cut, in which I'm shooting to lose around 8-10lb, 10lb is the absolute max I'm setting myself just in case I start to yearn for a 6-pack and go nuts on the cut. Anyway this is the routine I'm hoping to use:

3xFBW as before, may have to lower weights slightly as I go but the routine will remain unchanged.

2xCardio sessions which will be running only and will be about 45-60minutes each (not very clued up on high intensity interval training or any other method of making 'running' more effective so any advice on that would be appreciated)

And then the remaining two days will be rest-days. Also, intending to cut the calories by 500 initially in the first week, and then maybe by another 100 or 200 after this. Obviously, doing the old "5/6 meals, well spaced out, LOT less fat, slightly less carbs, still same amount of protein" routine as well.

Any advice/criticism would be appreciated, especially on the cardio front!..

Thanks.

EDIT - Nutrients at 2300cals are planned as 200g carbs, 80-90g fat, 175g protein.. Does that sound about right?

IMO you will need to increse the weights or at least lift as you do now.On a cut you`re muscles need a reason to stay and lifting heavy will do that.

Iwould also do cardio 3-4 times a week if you decide on HIIT read up on it .It can be very intense for a first timer.

Also if you`re only cutting for a month theres no reason why you should`nt aim for 500cals below maintinance for the duration(that will be 4- 5lbs lost there)

good luck

if you are too far below maintenance, is your body more inclined to burn up some muscle? when i begin my cut in april, i plan to decrease my cals back to maintenance, and then add in my cardio to go below it no more than 500 cals.

would that be correct? i always thought a slow cut was better than a fast one.

i believe a slow cut is better but the op only plans to cut for a month

Cheers marko..

Yeah I'm not going for a super-quick cut, its a month or maybe 5 weeks, in which I'm losing 8-10lb, if it was a very fast cut where I didn't care about muscle loss, I would shoot to lose much more!

And my calories have already dropped 500 from bulking-levels but being an endo, that's sufficient for me to lose weight, the 500calorie drop isn't just to maintenance, its enuff to cut pretty well, but depending on how that goes, I may drop a little more!

FYI, started my cut today, all seems well, although its kinda weird to have to tweak the diet nutrients-wise after being so loose with them on the bulk!
