Cutting Down

I'm looking to lose about 5-10 pounds of fat by early June. Losing the weight is the easy part, but it's imperative that I lose as little muscle mass as possible. I've heard glutamine is a good supplement for this goal. What's the best way to do this?

I'm training for football, so I'm going to be doing sprints as part of my conditioning. However, I've heard that slow-paced cardio is best for maintaining muscle mass when dieting. Is there any truth to that?

Ive always heard that HIIT was best for burning fat, carbs and NOT muscle, and that long distance cardio could burn muscle.. anyways, HIIT is more effective than long distance low intensity if your looking to burn fat;)
and fotball is pretty simular to HIIT isent it? run as fast as you can sometimes, and when the ball is not in your "room" or what you call it, you can rest a bit.

and BTW: its all in your diet, dont eat as much carbs as you do when you maintain your weight.

Yeah you should be fine, it's definitely viable.

Watch your diet like it's your job. Be extremely strict with it. To the max.

Add in some HIIT like karky said, or stick with the sprints and you'll be fine.
