Curry on Thursday

Going for a Curry on Thursday, its a team event for my football team so I can't not go. ANy tips for what I can eat? So far I'm thinking plain rice and Chicken Tika........

if you play on a football team and are on a fitness column im guessing a curry isnt going to do you any harm.

if its decent stuff then its a good meal. go for leaner meat, keep away from the deep fried starters, dont eat yours and then the rest of someones naan bread.

the only worry with restaurants is the oversized tubs of oils they use. i can understand takeaways buying economy but id like to see more restaurants use better quality ingredients.

enjoy and just dont over eat/drink!!

I would go for an onion barge, keema nan, bombay potatoes, special rice and chicken jalfrazi. (=2500cals)

Mate, if your going out for a meal dont worry about it. I have fitness and weight training running thru my mind 24hours a day. Going out for dinner with my mates is just a s much a mental break as it is a physical one.

The only thing I would do it stay away from the sauces and oils. the onion barge will have tonnes of oil in it. The massala has the most fat out of anything cos it has so much cream.

You can ask the waiter to go easy on the oil.

Kebab and tandori dishes are always good!

Chilli is a thermogenic, so grab a spoon of lime pickle!!!!!!

the hotter the dish, the less cream it will have.

Cheers, where did you get the total calories from? I found a few sites that give some takeaway food but dont cover everything.

I'm thinking if I have a chappati instead of the naan and tikka instead of Jalfrazi it keeps it under 2000 calories!

i wouldnt be worrying so much about the number of kcalories you're going to consume, you clearly appreciate what you should and shouldnt be eating so one meal out isnt going to do much harm.

we go out quite often and its curry quite a lot of the time. i just dont overeat, i always find that they give too much rice so i share a portion and then share a naan, i dont like anything creamy or cream based so i have a bhuna (tomato based and probably never been cooked outside of the uk but hey) with chicken (protein protein protein).

after a good 12 months of better eating i find i just cant stomach anything too fatty, oily or just plain crap. when i do have something that i know i shouldnt its just a good excuse just work that bit harder the next day.

enjoy it, as long as its not a habit you dont need to worry.

Its only a ruff number. cos its all hand made its impossible to tell.

Thats just a number I got ages ago from a nutrition website.
