Current Pictures (Starting 30LB weight loss journey)

Hey guys, I've decided it is time to slim down to what I should be. I am currently 210 lbs. As early as a month ago I was about 225 but I lost the weight the wrong way, basically by eating nothing. Now It is time to lose it the right way.

I put some before pictures, taken after breakfast in the morning.
I think I have a good base to cut off 30 pounds and not look too skinny. I've got some chest fat that I really want to get rid of, and stomach fat also. My legs are strong, but have some extra lbs. on them as well.

Let me know if you guys think 30 lbs is enough

Put the lid down

hey man,

I was basically in your situation just over 2 months ago. I weighed 215lbs at 6 foot and it was all fat.

I made a journal on the forum and started to do daily exercise (weight training and cardio) and since then I have lost weight and I am now around 185lbs. Basically what you want to do is do weight training to build your muscle. The more muscle you gain the faster you will burn calories/fat. Plus eating is important, don't starve yourself, because if you do, then your body will retain the fat. You need to eat around 5-6 times a day, smaller meals, so that you get the calories which you will then turn into muscle. The body needs calories, especially when you are working out, so do not starve yourself.

Try to get into a daily routine, I know that it is inconvenient in the beginning, but you will soon find yourself wanting to workout every day or every other day.

Good luck!

Small update... a couple of months in and I am doing pretty well. I've stuck to my diet/exercise program. I changed my weight training from every day to Mon/Wed/Fri with a focus on upper/lower/both(and midsection)

I also threw in High Intensity Interval training on Tues/Thurs/Sat.
Man, that stuff makes you feel like you are going to die, but afterwards it is worth it. I also got a new digital scale because my old one was messed up. New one gave me a 220 lb reading at the end of march, so I suspect my real weight was around 225 starting.

Pleased to say I am at 215 right now, averaging 1lb per week in the month of april (really about 1.2). I try to have one cheat meal a week, and it seems to help me more than anything.

Updated pics coming soon, I can tell a little difference, but I still have around 25-30 lbs to go to my goal.
