Curious question about rep.

I just gave rep to person who had zero rep.

How exactly does that work?

I believe the more rep you have yourself, the more rep power a person receives when you rep them. I'm not positive though.
 
I'd like to tell you guys a little story about rep and greed, lol

I think it was a year ago or so.....people around here started getting "greedy" when it came to rep. Some of us had rep all the way up to 9,999 (i believe) and that was all the 'characters' allotted for rep..it didnt' go up to 10,000. Some people were complaining about that and so I asked the admin if he could change the allotted character amt for rep. This really upset him and he reset everyones rep back. I can't remember exactly how he figured....it was based on how much rep you already had....some people were back down to 0 and some 50....anyways....thats my story....don't get greedy :)

It makes no sense to me why someone would get bothered over rep.
I don't take it too seriously.
BUT... I do try to give out rep generously, it's always nice to be recognized.

Alright.. one more question.....
How do the rep points and the green oval correlate? I just saw two guys with 13 rep points. One had 3 rep greenies, and the other only had 2. How does that work?
