hi magenta

i think its a wonderful plan - i bought it for my dad and his wife, and got a copy for myself. nearly everyone i know seems to have a copy! i'm currently following a low GI plan, so i'm just using it for recipes at the moment. the ones i've tried so far have been lovely. once i'm at my goal weight i will use it all the time.

i've noticed some bad press about it lately, mostly due to the large amount of meat that's recommended. i think that's wrong though, as it clearly states in the book that you can replace meat with other protein (tofu, eggs, etc) if you don't like to eat much meat (which i don't).

so i say go for it, and let us know what you think!

i found an overview of the diet and some of the recipes online in PDF format at http://www.csiro.au/proprietaryDocuments/MLA_diet.pdf after looking at it i am eating protein carbs and fat in about the same proportions as this diet and i eat about as much red meat as they recommend so even if i am not following the diet specifically i am close and i am loosing weight slowly with very little hunger.

there is also a review of the diet compared to other high protein diets here http://www.nutritionaustralia.org/food_facts/faq/popular_diets_p1_high_protein.asp
