crystal light/green tea vs. water

Okay - I'm a health food junkie and have a pretty well-rounded diet, except for the fact that I'm not a big fan of water. I know I need to drink 64 oz. a day, but I probably barely get 30 of pure water in. Instead, I drink lots of green tea and crystal light - does anyone know if this will accomplish the same thing as water, or am I sabotaging my healthy lifestyle?

Green tea still contains caffeine so you can't really drink just green tea. You still need at least 2litres of water.

will the caffeinne cancel out the effects of the water? I don't drink much caffeinne anyway - most of the tea I drink is decaf, but I've always wondered about this

I don't know if it's true, but I always heard that if you drink a cup of a caffienated beverage, you have to drink an extra cup of water (or in your case, Crystal Light) to flush the caffiene through your body.

Caffiene may have a slight dehydrating effect to the body so you may need to consume more water if you are taking in a good amount of caffiene during the day.
