Crunches/Pushups Everyday

I am on a push/pull 5 days a week workout program and have heard that doing crunches and pushups everyday can also help. I've heard that it depends on your body and I feel mine can withstand this kind of workout. Although I've also heard it can be counterproductive. Does anyone have any tips?
 
if your on a push/pull why would you want to do a pushing exercise everyday:rolleyes: and how could it help???
 
benefits are that on pushing days pulling muscles get a break and visa versa so you can workout more often.
