Hey yall, I'm a 21-year-old guy, 5"7' and weighing about 195. Looking to lose some fat weight and put on some muscle to uncover. Primary objective is for cutting fat, though I am looking for overall fitness in general.
Currently, this is my schedule. I was hoping yall could give me some advice and critique on it. All days are preceded by a 10 minute warmup on the elliptical trainer and stretching.
I increase the time I do HIIT for by 2 minutes each week. I keep the ratio of max effort to jogging constant, always 20 mins vs. 10.
Monday - Back and Shoulders
Dumbbell Military Presses (6 sets/10 reps)
Pull-Ups (5 sets/However many I can do
Tuesday
HIIT (20 min. maximum effort/10 min. jog)
Wednesday - Legs and Biceps
Weightless Squats (6 sets/20 reps [1 rep = 1 normal squat and 1 jump squat])
Dumbbell Curls (5 sets/10 reps)
Thursday
HIIT (20 min. maximum effort/10 min. jog)
Friday - Triceps and Chest
Hip Pushups (4 sets/6 reps)
Diamond Pushups (4 sets/6 reps)
Flies (5 sets/10)
Dips (4 sets/6 reps)
Weekends are typically a crapshoot when it comes to specific workouts. Randomly throw in the occasional HIIT routine.
As you can see I have no ab routine, though honestly that's the least of my concerns. Anyone wanna suggest different reps or exercises I can throw in or any other criticisms that would help me see results?
