I have just inherited this exercise bike and cannot get it to work. The computer display is fine and I have put in new batteries. I go thro the process of setting all the displays but cannot get the pedals to engage - ie/ the 'P' in the top left hand corner doesn't disappear. can anyone help me please?

Hi, just read yr post about the problems with the 'crane exercise bike'..did you manage to resolve the problem because i'm having the same thing happen to my bike..i don't have a manual..like you batteries are in everything thing is bar the 'P' sign so it's not connecting with the pedals etc etc..if you manged to get it going i'd love to hear how you did it!!! Thanks

how to remove the P symbol from your crane bike

you need to remove the right hand side pedal then the wheel cover, on the flywheel you should be able to see a glued in magnet. This magnet passes a sensor as it travels, make sure the magnet is still in place, just see if a screwdriver blade get s pulled to it. magnet there then check sensor front is clean, if they are both ok it would be handy to have a multimeter at this point.
remove connection from computer, it is the one with only one wire, connect your meter across the jack, if you don,t know how to use a meter just set it to buzzer, turn the pedal till magnet and sensor line up, you should hear a beep. If at this stage you get no buzz you will need to remove handle bar column and make sure the connection is ok there, again using the meter to buzz out the sensor first then the lead to the computer. I had to make a wire up and it works well.
