Cramps

Whenever i work my calfs i get that feeling u get right before a cramp, so i usually stop there. Is this normal? Today was my 2nd day doing that excercise in a row and it happened again. I just wanna know if this is normal.
-Thx

Yeah, that's where I always get my cramps too. It can be for a variety of reasons such as a lack of potassium (eat a banana), dehydration, or a lack of stretching.

How many reps are you doing for your calves?? If you're like these silly kids that I have in my weightlifting class who want to do 80 reps in calf raises, then that would lead to cramping.....otherwise, you should not feel any cramping in your calves unless you are dehydrated or not properly warmed up....

i dont know, i usually do 3sets of 12 pushing 90 Lbs9(kinda weak i know ; ; i'll get there.) but my problem might be not stretching, i'll try that, as for hydration i cary around a bottle of water or some powerade but i do drink 8+ glasses of water daily, for sure. -Thx:)

That's good. To really stretch those calves out, find something that's about 6-8 inches high and place your toes of ONE foot on the object while your heel is still on the floor. Stand straight up and then lean forward a bit, keeping that heel on the floor. You should feel a great stretch in those calves....

thank you, i will try that. also, i didnt get that feeling today until the last set i did. so maybe its because im just starting to get into it and actually going to the gym now. But thanks anyways, also drank extra water and gonna start taking centrum Performance...Generic brand from CVS >.>
