Cooking w/ Protein Powder?

My mom created a bran muffin recipe with oats, raisin bran, ww flour, splenda,etc ... i want to add protein powder to the mix so i can get protein and fiber for breakfast from this one muffin ... can i do this? Would protein powder screw up the flavor? Does protein powder screw up the mixture to not bake properly or anything? Anyone have any recipe like this already ... my mom puts orange extract in the muffins but i'm looking for a flavor to replace that too ... also whats a good protein powder brand if i can do this ... i'd probably rather purchase it online free shipping or at walmart ... thanks for your advice ...
 
Give it a try... I have some nasty 'soy' strawberry protien that I should have never got; but I now mix it in with my morning pancakes (whole wheat, no fats...) and they come out alright. You can do the same thing for muffins, protein bars, etc.
 
I'm interested as well, but I am worried if the proteins will be broken up by the heat. Has anyone ever addressed that issue?
