confused and discouraged about weight training

hey guys. ive been here for a couple months now and ive read so0o0o0o much advice/information (which im very thankful for) but it kind of overwhelms me. it almost discourages me in a way b/c there's so much out there to learn, and it feels i havent even scratched the surface. i started lifting again in feb, making many corrections and adjustments along the way (for example i used to overtrain, but i had no idea i was, and i had to correct and better my form with different exercises) and it wasnt until like, may/june that i found a solid base to stand on with working out after a couple months of getting used to it. and with every new piece of information, i feel this base is crumbling and i have to find a new one. ive made some very impressive gains since feb, for example, my arms r bigger, my shoulders appear more capped, and my chest seems to be taking shape. but i still feel like if i dont try this or i dont try that, im doomed to having the body of a 12 yr old boy (well, it doent look much like that anymore, but im just trying to make a point). i hope i was making sense. i was wondering if you guys had ever felt the same way and if u could offer me some ways to get my head straight about this. thanks.

Not really. There is always something that you can do to improve, ect. No ones diet or workout is perfect. Everyone has a flaw in their plan. If something is bother you, change it. Don't stress yourself out.

It always feels like that for me. Everyone in weight lifting gives it their all and crawls as hard as they can through it and the suprising thing is no one ever turns out as good as they thought as fast as they thought. But they do make progress. Fitness is not a sprint it is a marathon, a long climb up a steep mountain but every step you go higher feels that much better. Don't be discouraged a lot of info thrown around on here is just trends the solid lifting info never changes.

AHHHHHHHH! i know EXACTLY what you mean! right when i find a plan that i think is good i find out something else and then it sucks and i have to start over and restructure it! OMFG! Ya that sux...im a noob and it frustrates me also.

You will never know everything, the whole point of body building really, is you need to find most the stuff out on your own. Everyone's body is different. I'm sure there are people out there in this world, that could just start working out today for the first time, and train the same muscle every day for 2 hours straight and not overtrain. People have to relize NO ONE IS THE SAME. The differences are huge sometimes.

Just like Wrath said in his newest article

How did I figure out what to do? Did I ask some guy in the gym? Did I count calories and look at the ratio of macronutrients? **** no. I experimented. I paid attention to how I felt... I looked in the mirror. Know what? Things are moving along nicely now. Look, people want simple answers. They want to be told what to do, to be spoon fed the truth. The truth? ****. The truth is, the answers you need, the answers you want, aren’t gonna be easy to come by. There are no shortcuts.

I feel your pain, what I did to overcome that miserable "doubt" was that I trusted my info, I gathered info on here and other places and also asked around (people that I knew who worked out like my brothers), compiled them and them organized them, took some things out made it more simple to understand and to do and I just trusted "it" and its working out well for me as of right now.

Also yeah, that Wrath guy put it perfectly, you've got to expirement, you dont know how many different workout exercises I have tried to put together lol. This is coming from a fellow beginner too though.

Get a good pre-made routine and workout your ass off. While your doing it read and learn. Most anything will work if you train hard.
