Confused about what type of excercise to do.

I'm a female about 150lbs.

I am muscular, but not bulky or anything...

I want to lose 20lbs in six months before I graduate from high school. What types of exercises are for decreasing waste size and pure weight loss?

I don't need to tone as I have a very athletic build. I just want to get rid of the flab over my muscle.

I heard that cardio works the best... but what type of cardio? Running, riding bike??

I'll also diet obviously! ;)

What do you mean you are muscular? You are lean?

No exercise specifically targets the fat on your waist. You can't pick and choose where you lose fat from, unfortunately.

and pure weight loss?

I'm not sure what 'pure weight loss' is.

That said, losing fat is about eating a caloric deficit, cushioning that caloric deficit with cardio, and doing some resistance training to help preserve the muscle you currently have.

It's also about eating the right foods too. Nothing magic or anything, but eating balanced, whole food meals is a good idea.

Tone implies you have little fat over your muscle. If you're toned, that means you have low enough levels of body fat to expose your muscles and look lean.

So I'm a bit confused?

You heard wrong.

Nothing works the best. A balanced attack works the best. And you can't out exercise a bad diet, so it all starts with nutrition when it comes to fat loss.
