Confused about forum rules

So, I have seen several posts which have been edited as the person was posting links, or asking people to pm them for more information about whatever. But i have seen the same number of posts with links and pm requests which have not been edited. Is it just that those posts have gone unnoticed?
 
If you ever see a post you think is questionable, just report it. We mods will see the report and we will look into it.

We don't always see everything.
 
some things will get by the initial radar, but with good members who report things they think are questionable, it'll help catch the things we miss.
