Hey everyone, how was your Thanksgiving? I probably ate to much, but not as much as I did last year, so I guess that's good. These changes that I am trying to make do need to last a lifetime. I don't know about you, but I can't picture myself never having pie on thanksgiving. so i'm ok with having that 1 pc of my favorite pie. i didn't need to have 1 of each.
This year i did start a new tradition, a few of us did take a walk after dinner; This was a nice change.

Week 2

OK the weekend was tough. I didn't do much for activity and i ate to many sweets. My parents still don't get it they came to visit and brought me homemade sticky buns. I expressed that I've been trying to get healthy again and my mom says, "you're fine dear, it won't hurt to just have some today". "you can start tomarrow", she says.
Starting today:
Breakfast: 2 all-bran muffins with an orange. cup of coffee, just milk.
Snack: Yogurt
Lunch: mexican rice, beans and chicken with side salad.
Snack: apple with peanut butter
Dinner: Large salad with grilled salmon
snack: bowl of Kashi cereal with 1%milk

now i need an activity. i've been looking around in my area for yoga classes. I think this will be a good place to start. i've got a DVR so i can record some episodes of different workouts on FitTV and do them when it works for my schedule, I can try to commit to at least 3x/week for now. i've done very little for myself so this will be a change for everyone in my family. hopefully they'll be supportive. I definately can't see myself joining a gym right now. i'm just not there yet.

Your Thanksgiving sounds like it was enjoyable. Mine was also wonderful; thanks for asking :)
I managed to avoid pie, only because my mom makes incredible chocolate chip cookies, and on the diet that I'm following, they're better for you.

I guess I'm lucky in the way that my mother doesn't bake much outside of chocolate chip cookies, so I'm never offered delicious, fatty home-made foods. It's a very, very microwave-oriented food life over at my house.

Buenas suerte on finding an activity plan that works for you...
I thought I wasn't going to be crazy about the gym when I started back in June (at a very bleh, very flabby 269 pounds), but it definitely grew on me.

Look forward to dropping by your diary every so often to see how you're progressing!

I went food shopping trying to prepare for this week. I've got to prepare foods ahead so I don't get tempted by treats. I've got celery and carrots to cut up into strips for munching on when i get a little hungry. I bought prepack salad greens so I can have a salad easily. I'll be grilling up some chicken and tuna for a good/quick source of protein. i picked up some healthy soups (blk. bean and lentil) for a quick lunch. hopefully i'm prepared enough.
OK Food seems covered, for me that's the easy part, NOW exercise....i'm taping a few different shows from FitTV. i can try to walk in the a.m. this week. I'll need to wait til payday to join a yoga studio.

Hey welcome to the forum! Great work going out and stocking up on healthy food - planning is one of the easiest ways to stay consistent. I find if I prepare my breakfasts and lunches ahead of time I'm more likely to stick to those healthy choices. Nice work beginning to add some activity too - burning calories will only get you to your goal faster!
Keep it up!!
