Compound exercises and the areasin which they work

Depends on the exercise...

Compound exercises stress multiple joints unlike isolation exercises. (The guy curling in the squat rack swinging the weight with his whole upper body doesn't count.) :D

Example: Bench Press works the following:
delts
pecs
tri's
rotator cuff
lats (if your grip is wide enough.)

I'd do some research on the area you want to workout then search for compound movements relating to that area.

That dont make sence. Im not sure what your asking.

compunds are any weight lifting exercise that uses more than one joint.

so a bicep curl would be flexing the elbow.

but a with a squat you use your knees, hips, spine etc... get it?

sorry its brief, im rushing

if you perfected your form on bench press, squat, and deadlift then you wouldn't need to do anything else. not only are they better for building a large symmetrical body, but it's how you get TRUE strenght
also, the leg press and machine bench press don't count!

Commerical gyms cater to the yo-yo fitness people, people who try every now and then to get in shape and use the easiest equipment they can find. I guess its better then nothing but its far from better then the good old iron.

The only thing I dont like about the gym, is that the plates are covered in rubber.

so im pumping rubber really.

I have some bumper plates, nothing wrong with that, might cheat alittle on deads but that's not very often.

There not all rubber just the outside.

But its so much nicer when your benching iron without cuffs. On your last two reps your in slow mo, the iron is clanging and shaking. It feels like an earthquake. But you still pushing and pushing, you can see the rack, the bar is just a micrometer above, you tilt your arms back slightly, praying the barbell is over the pegs, you relax...

...and the noise is music.

CRASHHHHH ching ching ching

ROFLMAO manofkent i was just thinking the same thing....;)
