Hi all,
I've been biking to work almost everyday for a while now and I guess a few things have come to mind in the rides. First, let me describe what I do:
1. Light stretching first, then bike 7 miles to work on the road.
2. Every other day, I bike about 5 miles at lunch.
3. Bike 7.2 miles home.
For the last two after work rides, my legs have been extremely tired(fatigued?) early into the ride. Almost to the point where I consider getting a ride home with a friend, but I ride anyway. From what I understand, fatigue is caused by a lack of oxygen getting to the muscles(please inform me if this isn't right). What can I do to get past this feeling? Is there anything I can add to my diet to help?
Also, I'm biking next to cars most of the time and I breathe in some exhaust. Is biking to work counterproductive for my lungs if I can not avoid the traffic?
Thanks for any advice... I absolutely love to bike, but I don't want to hurt myself in doing so.
