Cold/allergies/workout/weight loss, oh my!

Morning everyone,

My nose has officially decided to try out for the Sept. 2007 Marathon Running Olympics. To say I feel more stuffed up than a Thanksgiving turkey is an understatement.

Thus, after dropping the kids off to school, I'm heading to Pathmark to pick up a chicken, dill weed and habanero peppers for a soup (the chicken and dill are from my mom's recipe; I always add hot peppers for personal taste). I've already taken vitamin C salts (another home remedy) and will be getting chewable zinc as well.

Anyone have any other good home remedies? If my nose quiets down, I plan on doing my circle walk for workouts today. Other than that, methinks my body would benefit from a good rest.

Stay healthy everyone,

Barbara

the zinc is good if you take it while you're getting sick and you get that scratchy feeling at the back og your throat - I'm not sure it does much good if you take it when you are already sick... I also recall reading somewhere that you should avoid zinc and orange juice together - just don't remember why....

If it's not an upper respitory infection - where you're hacking up a lung (or my usual bout with bronchitis) then getting yourself moving isn't a bad idea but if you feel icky - then wait til you feel better.

When I'm congested -i like spicy - the hotter the better... and lots and lots of liquids...

hope you're feeling better
