Coached Moved Me From Safety To linebacker!?!?

Hey guys, Last year I was playing strong safety for my high school, now the coach says I would make a bigger impact if i moved to outside linebcaker due to the extra muscle i gained in the off season. Im looking to see what I can do increrase my strength as well as all around agility to play such a physical possition. Any information will help me out, I started working on my upper body (shoulders, traps , and neck area) to help pad myself. Is there anything else i can do to help improve my situation?
 
You definitely want to work on your core muscles (abs and lower back). Because of the increased physical play, you will need to be stronger in these areas. Check out freefitnessvideos.com for a bunch of core exercises.
 
Do squats. Then do some more squats. Then some more squats after that. Afterwards, do some more squats.

Then when you're done doing squats, do some deadlifts. Then drink some milk.
