Hey guys!

I'm new here and I have a few questions for the savvy ones amongst you. I just recently started a new diet in order to lose about twenty pounds. I weigh approximately 148 at 5'6, but really am just not happy here. So, I've switched out meat for soy products. I've also switched from butter to margarine, regular cream cheese to nonfat, so on so forth. I'm also walking/jogging on my treadmill for forty minutes everyday. I'm taking in about 1,200 calories, a little more or a little less depending on the day. I'm young so I don't really have a problem with my metabolism. I'm just wondering if these are the right steps to be taking. I'd really like some input on whether or not this will yield me results. I want nothing more than to lose this weight, it's kept me so unhappy for so long. I know I can keep this diet up long term (boca burgers are good!) but I just need to know I'm not wasting my time.

Thanks!

The plan sounds excellent to me. But I'm no real expert, but I can definitely see that you're not wasting your time. You will get results if you keep doing that everyday and not give up.

You should probably try to get 1200 calories at the minimum everyday though, not less.
