Who is clean eating?
The definition of "clean eating" is too variable to be able to get any real useful response from this. Some people don't consider you to be eating clean unless you eat 100% organic, or 100% veggie, or 100% vegan ... or whatever. Some people just consider eating clean to be avoiding processed foods. Some people think it means eating a paleo diet. "Clean eating" as a phrase is mostly meaningless.
For how long have you been doing so?
I try to avoid processed foods as much as possible and have been doing so for 3+ years. I don't buy into the whole "organic is better" mindset - although I do have strong feelings about organic farming for the good of the environment, but not from the sense of organic being better food. I try to eat mindfully, knowing where my food comes from and being responsible about my choices.
Have you slipped off and ate something you shouldnt?
I don't believe in the concept of "shouldn't" when it comes to my food choices. I believe that some choices are better than others ... but I hate the concept that we've come up with that foods are inherently evil and should be avoided. I choose sometimes to eat processed food - knowing that I am CHOOSING to do so. I sometimes eat things like burgers from Five Guys, potato chips, ice cream, etc. I just try to keep those choices to less than 80% of my overall diet - because expecting 100% compliance to anything restrictive is silly, IMO.
What's your breakfast?
Yogurt and fruit (usually blueberries) or oats and fruit. Sometimes all three.
Options for lunch?
Usually tuna or chicken over a salad.
Snack ideas?
Fruit, veggies, string cheese, V8 juice, boiled eggs, peanut butter on an apple, etc.
Dinner?
Whatever I'm in the mood for, leaning towards lean proteins and veggies and keeping carbs to a minimum.
What kind of exercises do you do? and how much do you workout per week?Weights 3x per week, cardio 3-4x per week. Usually my workouts last for about an hour. ON weekends I try to keep active - it might not be a formal workout, but I go for a hike, work in the garden, do housework, take a bike ride (gotta get a new bike!), etc.
Have you lost weight to date?
84 pounds so far. 30 more to go.
