-- How much weight do you want to lose? At least 80 pounds

-- What is the timeframe for reaching your target weight? about a year

-- How do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)? I like the biggest loser program and have seem it work so basically eating healthy and excercise

-- Who or what can support you in reaching your goal? This forum, My husband is kind of an anabler, my son is some help but will offer me an icecream right after saying we shouldn't eat something.

-- How realistic is your goal? I don't know

-- When will you start? started today.

What is your current height and weight? 5 feet 4 inches 218 lbs.

If you were at an ideal weight now, what would that weight be? 135

At what weight would you like to be at four months from now?170

Why do you want to lose weight? because I hate looking in the mirror and seeing what I see. I have knee pain; I used to go to physical therapy but stopped b/c I know the excercises they want me to do. I didn't have knee pain when I weighed 170 I am sure my weight is a factor.

Do you want to lose weight for a specific life event such as wedding or reunion? If so, when is that event? no event

What obstacles could get between you and your weight loss goals? I do home daycare and even though i feed my children healthy foods, they aren't always as healthy as i should be having because i am home all day I have access to food all day long. We are a pretty busy family too so many nights (to many) we will stop for fast food. I told my family that this weekend I will be buying lunch meat and we will pack a cooler with healthy foods and drinks when ever we leave the house on the weekends so we don't stop for fast food on the road. So i may be able to help myself get through that one.

Why do you think that you now have a weight problem? I have had a weight problem all my life. I lost a bunch of weight right befor I got pregnant with my son (16 years ago) I didn't gain weight with him I was all baby and fluid.
I so was thin for about 3 years, I waited tables and cared for an infant alone and was stressed over a divorce that took place 6 months after my son was born. So I got plenty of excercise. Then i met my husband and my son wasn't into sports so we got lazy, and I got fat. I didn't see the weight piling on until recently I mean i knew i was gaining but i was in denial since they invented stretch material (I mean my clothes still fit I just have to cover the bulge with big shirts right?! WRONG the big shirts were sweat shirts and summer is coming fast and none of my clothes from last year fit.

What lifestyle changes do you think would help you lose weight? I plan to start a vegetable garden with my son this summer so we have healthy foods readily available and a hobby to keep us out of the kitchen. We plan to go fishing, and hiking etc. in stead of vegging infront of the TV or shopping for junk we don't need. And I plan to cook dinner in the evening and schedule a work out for afterwards. I just read that walking helps empty your stomach so it reduces heartburn.

Have you lost weight in the past? If so, what our has worked in the past to help you lose weight? I walked with a neighbor (she moved away) Our neighborhoob is one mile around we did 2 laps per night. After she moved I stopped. I have a treadmill and last summer i lost some of what I gained I had my tread mill on my porch so I would walk while my daycare played outside. My husband put the treadmill in our basement for winter. He set it up like a gym we have a treadmill, stationary bike, elipticla, weight bench, and weight gym down there collecting dust. I was following the Biggest loser diet and working out quite a bit.

Why do you believe that you did not lose weight or you gained the weight back? I love food. I eat when i am happy, sad, celebrating, brooding. I had a pretty good feeling about myself and one day it just wasn't there. I don't feel attractive anymore and I felt like why am i killing myself trying to loss weight. no one cares what I look like. So here I am depressed and who do I tell not my husband why when there is a donut right in the other room. Now I am at rock bottom and can't stay here it isn't healthy for me, my family, my business no one.

Would you try writing down all food and drink consumed for a given period of time? yes, i did weight watcher once and lost 30 pounds on it. to bad I gained them back. It was amazing to see what I ate and I did not eat as much because when i opened the note pad that I kept my food journal in I would see that I just ate something not to long ago and realize i was bored not hungry.

Do you cook at home often? If so, what do you cook? More now than before because we are budgeting. When I cook we eat healthy. wheat pasta and vegetable I put in a lot of chunky veggies so we don't miss the meat I put in some meat (lean cooked and drained) chicken, beef (lean and I cut off visible fat. Fish we love fish, salmon, tuna, tilapia, orange roufie, catfish, etc. I don't use butter usually it is just into a 9X13 pan and baked with either old bay, lemon, garlic, fat free italian dressing, etc. ussually I make a starch and 2 veggies for any meat. Stratch we still follow the biggest loser diet and eat whole grains not processed stuff. It just tastes better. and veggies we do a lot of green beans, corn, sugar snap peas (when we can find them), asparagus, brocoli, and that is about all my family will eat.

How often do you go out to eat? Where do you go? to much McDonald's, Burger king, KFC, taco bell, olive garden, chinese food, pizza, subs, nothing good for us.

What are your three favorite foods? Pineapple upside down cake, sub sandwich, chips and dip (at lest that is what i can think of now)

What are your three favorite restaurants? Olive Garden, I only have one.

What are three things you can do differently when it comes to food? Eat better, stop fast fooding, keep track of what i eat.

If you woke up tomorrow and your body was exactly the way you want it, what would be different? I would be thin (not supermodel thin) I want to keep some of my curves but loss the dimply fat.

Do you eat when you are not hungry? yes

Do you binge eat (large amounts at a time)? yes
Do you hide your food or eat in secret? no
Do you eat when you are sad, nervous, or depressed? yes
Do you eat as a reward?yes
Do you eat while watching TV or using the computer? yes
What do you normally eat for a meal? yes and then some
What type of snacks do you eat? nothing good, Chips n dip, donuts, cake, cookies, etc.
In terms of exercise, what, if anything, are you currently doing? not much but that changes now.
Where do you go for exercise? A local public gym? School/work gym? Home?Home
What, if anything, are your three favorite types of exercise? swimming, walking, hiking
What is your daily/weekly/monthly/yearly motivation to move towards your goals? a bathing suit hanging in my closet
Do you have rewards for certain goals? no

Well day 2 and i feel pretty proud of my self. I cooked sword fish steak for dinner last night with augrautin potatoes made with skin milk and left out the butter (a little runny but good flavor) and green beans. i got hungry during american idols so i ate a handful of fat free chips i didn't take the can down to the family room just a handful.

Today I got up and had eggbeats with fat free cheese for breakfast I haven't had lunch yet but while I cooked for the kids i made some green beans for me to pick at instead of the cheese (they had grilled cheese). I am going out to dinner tonight (it's a meeting not by choice) but it is an italian resturaunt so I am planning pasta with marinara.

I feel like I can do it. things seem better today then they have in a long time. I'm not excercising until after dinner b/c I don't want to get sweaty before dinner so I plan to hit my elipticle for at least 10 minutes when i get home tonight.

I have a 4 day weekend this week so if I can get through that I can get through anything. We are planning a few day trips, bowling, putt putt golf, skating, fishing, and hiking I can plan ahead and make sure I have healthy foods for every event. It is our 10th anniversary Friday so we are using the 4 day weekend to spend quality family time together.

Thanks. i was hoping to be at my goal weight from years ago by now but since i am not this is my motivation. To do what i didn't do in the past now.

I am pretty proud of myself. I lost 7 pounds in 3 days. Of course I know a lot of that was water weight since I ate chinese with a ton of salt and bloated up before I started this journey but it is a big boost in confidence regardless.

I took my lab to the vet this morning and she is overweight. She wasn't 2 months ago but had surgery and I had to keep her pretty much still while she healed. Now she has a new issue she has some sort of wound (unexplainable, I don't know what she did) on her side that I have to give her an antibiotic for and more ZN7 spray/gel so it should heal fast. Anyway she has been cleared to run now so I plan to start her walking tonight. It is to hot for her right now but when the son goes down she and I will do a mile around the neighborhood then My husky and I will do a lap around the neighborhood. 2 laps for me and 1 for each of them. Until I get to the point I can control them both together then we can step it up to 2 laps together and maybe more if we head out in the mornings too.

I am starting slow but will be working up to the HIIT thing. It sounds pretty great but i am not ready yet. (good to have goals)

Thanks, I am truly motivated. Although a local icecream store just opened back up today they have been closed for months new management now. Of course we went and got a cup of icecream each but it really wasn't that good (like I remembered) So I won't miss it.
tomorrow we are having a picnic in the park and taking fishing poles, frisbee, football and soccer ball so lots of excercise and fishing in between.
And I am packing sandwiches and snacks that are all healthy. who knows maybe i can get back into my summer shorts and not have to buy new.

23 pounds down for you is nothing to shake a stick at either. That is awesome and encouraging. You keep you the great work too.

Well I am back it has been a couple weeks and I let myself gain back all but 2 pounds.
But I went camping with my son and the boyscouts and had an eye opener. My family needs me to lose weight and then maybe my husband will fall in line too.
He stuggled a lot this weekend and couldn't do a lot of the activities our son wanted him to do and couldn't even walk the distance it took to watch some. He couldn't get off the ground with out me helping him up. And I feel like some (not all) of this is my fault. I allow him to eat at the faast food places and many time encourage it b/c I don't feel like cooking.
I was watching the leaders cook at the camp out and a lot of fat and calories went into every pot. they made enchiladas, lasagna, chocolate dump cake, biscuits with sausage gravy etc. it was crazy.
even though I have been disappointed with myself for gaining weight. I am proud of myself for keeping active and getting up this morning and making my family a healthy breakfast and I just made Chili for dinner and I am marinating chicken for dinner tomorrow.
I am going to try to take my dog for a bike ride later and see how that works out. I have been walking her but she needs plenty of excercise since her surgery she has gained weight too and now she looks fat.
I can do it I am going to lose the weight again and keep on track for myself and my family.
