well th is is my first entry in this diary- i am sooo needing this to get on track. i had 3 kids in a 4 year time span and am so tired of being over weight and tired all the time! i have hit `199 lbs w hich is the highest i have ever been.....i am done!
i joined the gym about a month ago and was going EVERY day for about 3 weeks and now the last week and a half haven't been at all a stomach bug hit my house and then came to visit again for a second wave......
so i am just trying to get a diet going and eat better- and lose this weight!
thanks for listening!:seeya:

welcome and good luck to you, you will find alot of support here...

what can we help you with?

i hit the gym tonight for the first time in 2 weeks. we have had a stomach bug that hit our house and came in waves so i havent been in 2 weeks... i thought i was going to die. my goal is to get back to going every day again.... i really want to . i enjoy going.....
right now i am so embarrassed about my belly- that its terrible... ihave to keep in mind that i had 3 babies in 4 years...... and my baby baby just turned 2 and my diet went to crap as soon as he was born. i lost all my baby weight with baby 1 and with baby 2 he was 6 months old when i got pregnant with baby 3 so i never had the chance to lose baby weight.. .make sense?
my biggest challenge is that i have a huge downfall for carbs... chips, micdonalds fries........ grrrrrrr those are my downfalls.... i just need top keep away from my downfalls.
thanks for the reply i hope to make lots of friends here and really get a good support system going.

Well I completley gave up and went back to my old habits of enjoying my carbs..... it seems everytime I get emotionally distressed I eat.... and I love my carbs ~ I love my chips {lays only thiank you... and me telling myself I am doing good by only eating the low salt ones doesn't help either} and i love my mcdonald's fries and big macs... i go through the drive through JUST for a sweet tea and end up with fries to go with it.
I have been so stressed the last few weeks I just have been eating and not working out as much- I have a hypo thyroid so thats just the exscuse I use...... and its not an exscuse if anything it should be a target for me. I lose energy go quickly because I work midnights and come home to get one kid ready for school sleep 2 hrs before the husbter leaves for work and then am up the rest of the day with the boys and going to get jadyn... its sometimes 9 pm before i even can look at my bed again... just to have to get back up at 1030.... so i live for my days off. i have been trying the last week or so to go to the gym after dinner- no matter how tired i am just to get there and do it. the other night i did 1.75 miles on the tread mill and ran for a bout a mile of it.... i am trying to train for a 2 mile race........
i can't make myself buy the lean cuisine meals because there are just as many calories as regular frozen meals and the sodium is horrendus and i need to limit my sodium because of my blood pressure so i am counting calories on my own and watching portion size. i did get some nice one portion veggies that are immunity boosters and weight size that are between 50 and 90 calories so i am ok with those.
today i have had one cup of coffee and a bowl of strawberry mini wheats and thats it. i plan on having a sandwich here in a little bit.
if you made it htis far thanks for listening to me whine. i have purposely avoided this forum because i knew what I SHOULD have been doing and wasn't.

carbs aren't evil and aren't something that you really need to avoid - you can make then fit into your daily calorie range...

How many calories a day are you trying to take in?

Just take it one day at a time and keep focused on the big picture of what you want to accomplish...

Well, welcome back then. I don't know how you manage to get anything done at all with that kind of schedule! Best of luck with picking it back up again. :D

my dr told me to go down to 1000 if wanted to lose serious weight but my trainer at the gym said not to do that low if i was going to exercise and train for a 5k.... so right now i am doing about 1200 or attempting too

Even 1200 is very low with your training - what are your current stats?

THe reason why I say that 1200 is low - and do spend time reading around the forum -you'll get a lot of good information that you can definitely use... is that it's tough to sustain that low a number long term -I assume you want the weight to stay off forever... you need to ditch the diet and grasp the concept of lifestyle change and work with reasonable calories..

Hi! and Welcome!!

I'd say 1,000 calories is WAAAAAAY low, and 1,200 is probably too low, as well. Cutting your calories too much is a sure way to fail. I know...I used to think the same thing: "I MUST eat 1,200 calories or less a day to lose weight." Only I was SO hungry I was stopping in the drive thru for a burger or an order of fries or cheese sticks to make it through to my little, tiny dinner.

Figure out the calorie level that's right for you, and eat healthy foods high in protein, fiber and good stuff to get to that level.

thats exactly whats happening!!! i eat itty bitty meals and then am STARVING and end up cheating!!!

i definatley need a whole lifestyle change and thats what i am attempting to do - some days its harder than others- but i am trying. i am in the process of revamping my entire family's eating habits so its EVERYONE eating more healthy not just me. I know i need to change everything from my way of thinking to the amt of exercise to my food intake. thanks so much for the advice!
i definatley will be looking through the rest of the board i think this board could be very helpful for me.
