Ok this is the first time I've ever tried an online support group for this sort of thing, so please bare with me. I'm known to ramble and go on tangents, so things my get interesting here lol. I am 26 years old, 5'6" and 236lbs, wow it's hard to post that on here for the world to see. I am built with a natural slim waist and high muscle content from years of working with horses and outside. Most people guess me at 185-190, but I'm really 236lbs. I really want to get down to 165-170, but mainly BE HEALTHY!!!!!!! I want to be a strong women who's healthy and happy with myself. Right now I don't like my body, my thighs are huge as is my stomach and I have stretch marks everywhere.
Time for a side note: I recently came off a six month trip on Cymbalta which made me gain 50lbs in about 4 months (not fun) so that's where the massive stretch marks came from. I was in the 190's for many years, but exploded from that med.
Sooooooooo back to what I dislike about myself some more: I have a rather large butt and chest, add that with my small waist and it makes me look like a walking hour glass. Now I know lots of people strive to be the perfect 36/26/40 but it's not easy nor fun to find clothes that fit. FYI right now im a 36/28/42 in case anyone wondered. I want a flatter stomach, a smaller butt and the fat rolls of my back to be gone. I look at pictures of myself as a teenager and I look really good, like hott good. I want to be like that again and enjoy myself while still enjoying food and life.
So right now I'm currently battling IBS so i'm already recording a food diary. I'm unsure about my recommended calorie intake, but I don't want to get too severe in recording. On a average day I eat a fat free yogurt and fruit for breakfast, a average size lunch of salad, meat and starch and pasta or something for dinner. Add in skim milk, several small snacks and about 4-6 bottles of water a day and you have my diet. I stay away from fast food, greasy fried foods, but indulge in chocolate still. I work/ride at my horse barn x2 week, walk my dog about a mile x2 a week and try (key word) to do moderate exercise x2 week.
Today I walked my dog 1/2 mile in hich 1/3 of that I jogged (or attempted while avoiding the neighbors watching me try to run) then I did a series of leg lifts/crunches and arm lifts which equaled 20mins or 200 total.
I know I have problems. I eat too many carbs and sweets. I can be lazy about exercise. Some days I'd rather lay in bed after work with a box of crackers than anything else. BUT this won't change without me doing something. This is up to me!!!
