chest exercises....

hi gang

well i am brand new to this site(just signed up 10 min ago) and liked what i see in these forums. everyone seems to very helpful to one another so i thought that maybe any of you could spend a minute answering a question that i have. i've been working out quite a bit now for the past year and have lost quite a bit of fat compared to where i was at a few years ago(was a fat kid growning up). i've been getting my cardio in on a consisent basis, working out hard and eating fairly well. i've seemed to have burned fat everywhere but in my chest area. no matter how much cardio i do it just seems to not want to go away. when i go for a run, my back would sweat like crazy but when i feel my chest, there isnt a drop of sweat. can anybody help me or suggest a routine that i can do to make my chest look more proportioned to the rest of my body? thanks guys and look foward to visiting this great site everyday!!!

Bench Press and then that dumbell exercise on an inverted bench....sorry i don't know the name....dumbell flys? dumbell presses??

Do them in a superset, but i'm no pro....

I think using weights can actually reduce chest fat..it worked for me..now i have a set of perfect shaped pecs stickin out my chest. Make sure you train intensly and not just hard..intense will get things done quicker. Sorry about ur problem though, mate.

The way this works is, you have fat covering parts of your body, over muscles, etc. When you do cardio, you are attempting to put yourself on a position where your body is burning more calories than it takes it. This "gap" should not be too drastic, as it can affect your health. When that deficit is occuring, your body keeps "dipping" into your fat to obtain just enough energy (aside from the energy you took in by eating) to compensate for daily activities. This evens out your energy intake and energy output, with your energy intake relying partially on your stored energy (fat).

Over time, most of the fat will be burned off. The reason it is not all burned off is because the body needs some fat for body processes. Expecially for hormonal changes in a teen (I know it may not be your case, but it's good to know).

Doing exercises for certain body parts will not burn the fat off there. That misconception is called, "spot reduction." Lots of people do endless sit-ups in hopes of burning off their gut and getting a nice, chiseled six-pack. It's not gonna happen. Fat is energy, your body controls where it is placed and how it is used. Fat on a certain body part is not "better" fat and your body does not have a preferred spot from where to burn fat off of. Where there is more fat, is where your body might "dip" into first. But it is all burned off evenly.

Doing chest exercises will make the chest muscles grow, and if you still have not burned off the fat lying on the chest, it will make the chest look even bigger with fat still covering it.

The solution is, like they've metioned, good exercise and proper diet, with a small deficit in calories. You know when you are cheating your diet, and you know when you can eat better. It's up to you how much effort you put it. As the chest muscles grow with the chest exercises, the fat will burn off with the calorie deficit. And soon you will have that same big chest, except that it will be rock-hard.

P.S. Sorry for the long-ass post and good luck.

thanks for the info. kind of off topic but what sort of diet do you recommend. what kind of things can i eat. i am completely lost when it comes to measuring calories, fat, carbs etc. if you can help me out by what kind of things i can eat to speed up this process that would be great. thanks!

This is the best website I have found that deals with nutrition info. It has full nutrition labels for pretty much everything. Gives you a break down of carbs/fats/protien, etc. It even has a letter grade system A+ to D-. check out the fast food section. It will blow your mind how much crap is in one burger.
