I understand that burning more calories than you consume = weight loss. What I'm not as clear about is this:
Let's say my cutting diet requires I consume 2000 calories X 7 days per week (starting on Sunday). That is 14000 calories weekly.
Let's assume that Sunday through Tuesday I've stuck to the 2000 calories for 6000 total this week. On Wednesday, let's say I consume 5000, taking me to 11000 total for the week. From a weekly caloric standpoint, I've only got 3000 left, and 3 days left. Are there any benefits to only consuming 1000 calories a day for the remaining 3 days so that I don't exceed 14000 calories for the week?
This might be a simpler version of the same question:
If I trash my diet, can I recover over the next two or three days by extreme calorie reduction, or is the impact on my body too fast to overcome?
