This week I've decided to alter my routine. For the past 5 months I've been working out 5 mornings a week with a kickboxing/wrestling trainer and doing the treadmill at night. I've lost 40lbs and look like a different person, it's been amazing. People say I look 10 years younger. I also cleaned up my diet and drink only water.
So, a lot of people on this site have suggested that I start weight training but I've balked in fear of getting too muscular, I use to lift heavy back in the day and I don't want that look today, I'm looking for the leaner look. But I've decided to take a shot and take some suggestions. So as of this week I am now kickboxing 3 mornings a week and strength training 2 to 3 mornings a week. I'm not lifting heavy, more of a curcuit style rip routine. I found a killer trainer and it's on!
We started this past Saturday and it's been a lot of fun and hard as hell.
The guy smokes me bad. I've also added protien powder to my diet and a protien/fiber/flax seed shake in the evening, as requested by my new trainer. I actually just drank the first one. Not bad tasting.
So far I really feel good. I'm sore in a different way from fighting sore. We are doing a lot of compound sets with no brakes for an hour. This guy is the manager at Crunch in Hollywood and is very hip to the look I'm going for, it doesn't hurt that he's shredded to peices. He has that lean ripped thing going on and he's a maniac about his food. So he's living it.
Anyway, I'm really pumped and can't sleep so I'm typing away. I started this thread as a peace offering to all the people who I pissed off by losing all this weight without weights...lol
I love this place...
p.s. If I start to look worse then I was right all along and some of you guys owe me an oppology, if I start to look better then...............I was right to start weight training.
Seriously I think this is going to add a great dimension to my physique, thanks for all the help.
