Hello, all.
My name is Cody and I am a 16 year old male who is currently very overweight. Frankly, I am tired of it and wish to change things so that other aspects of my life will subsequently improve. I possess a basic knowledge of nutrition and fitness in general but am not really sure what would be right for my specific body. In the past to lose weight I would go to the gym and do an hour of cardio and about 20 minutes of abdominal work. My stepfather, who used to be very in-shape, told me that if I were to run and do ab workouts that I would lose weight and that the fat in my stomach would in essence be "burned" and melted. He compared the ab situation to putting butter on a hot burner. I was able to keep up with that for about two months and got down to as far as 180 but things came up and I wasn't able to consistently go back. A couple weeks back I tried eating five small meals a day (as instructed by my stepfather) but I was unable to keep up with it. I either felt not hungry or too hungry.
I now sit at 5'5" at around 200 lbs (give or take) based on my recent weighing and am trying to get down to a healthy size where I would look more appealing. As previously mentioned I do have basic knowledge (in my opinion) of nutrition but I feel like with advice and suggestions from more experienced and knowledgeable people that I would be able to maximize my benefit. I've come here to seek out a strict regimen that would put me on track to get down to a healthy weight by around August or even before then. I hope this is something that someone here can assist me with and I would be more than happy to answer any questions.
Thanks.
