Changed my diet plan.. Any better?

Before I posted that all I eat all day was a yogurt in the morning and a sandwich and soup at night. You guys said I wasn't eating enough, so I changed my diet around a bit..

Right now it consists of this:

Breakfast
Slim Fast shake mix (mixed with milk)

Lunch
Salad with ranch dressing, croutons, mozzarella, and bacon bits.

Dinner
Turkey and bacon full sub with chicken noodle soup.

Beverage(s)
Spring water
Sparkling flavored water (no sodium, caffeine, calories or carbs)

Exercise
Five mile bike ride (sometimes more, sometimes less)
Sit-ups (50)

I know it might be a little too much, so please tell me what it is I should change.

Seems kind of low to me... Between the 3 meals add some veggies and fruits. I would add a bowl of grainy cereal such as mini wheats to your breakfest as well (maybe oats if you can stomach it). Make sure you don't go hungry; if you keep carbs in your system you'll laster longer on the bike rides as well.

oatmeal

hmm cut out the bacon, I don't know what ranch dressing is but salad dressings can be calorie bombs, it should be a vinegar based dressing.

overall it looks kind of low, add some veggies and fruit or grilled chicken breast

thats simply not enough calories.
Nor is it enought protein.
What is your age, height, weight?
And what are you goals?

If you cut your calories too much you will just be counter-productive.
Starving your body just causes fat to be stored, and gives you high chances of binging on junk. Not to mention your putting your muscles through hell (they don't deserve that do they?) ...after all, they do play a huge role in burning calories.
Not only these reasons, but with such low food intake, you wont be able to recieve a healthy amount of vitamins and minerals (this will also hinder you progress).

- Eat 5-6 meals a day.
- Make your biggest one breakfast. (Have Protein, Carbs and fats present)
- Include protein in EVERY meal.
- Eat majority of carbs during the day and post workout (if your working out)
- Cut out carbs after 8pm (eat things like chicken, tuna, nuts, eggs, cottage cheese, protein shakes ect)
- Get a weightlifting routine along with a cardio routine.
- Eat whole foods... nothing refined or with alot of preservitives
(things like chicken, fish, oatmeal, nuts, wholegrain bread, natural peanut butter, cottage cheese, brown rice, very lean steaks, sweet potatoes/yams, salads, veggies, eggs ect)
- INFORM yourself!

These are some simple guidelines to help you start off on the right foot.

Research how your body burns calories and how to burn fat. Avoid 'trend' diets. Bodybuilder/weightlifting sites have usefull tips and advice for this topic that are usually BS free. Good luck :D

18, 250, 5'10.

Here's how it's going to change so far:

Breakfast
Turkey on wheat bread, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise with an apple.

Lunch
Salad with Ranch Lite dressing and croutons.

Dinner
Chicken with steamed veggies.

..What kind of chicken and how do I cook it?

Also, does anyone know if there is any good, healthy, Chinese food? I live right next store to one and it'd be really easy if there was some.

WOW someone REALLY doesnt know what ranch dressing is!! WOW!! Down here in Texas everyone eats it ... literally on EVERYTHING! When i used to be a waitress people would ask for "ranch sauce" and want cups and cups of it for burgers, fries, salads, etc ... If you wanna eat ranch get "Ranch Lite Done Right" they're a good brand that has many less calories than most other brands and tastes good ... they make other types of low cal dressings too ... i get Ken's Cesaer Light it has 70 calories a serving ...

I bought a little steamer basket type thing from the store for like $5 - they sell them at target, walmart, heb, randalls, albertsons ... whatever u have wherever u live ... u put the basket in a pot with like an inch of water at the bottom and cook on medium for like 10 minutes and its done ... poke it with a fork to see if its soft enough for u .. i make potatoes, broccoli, green beans, corn on the cob, squash ... almost any fresh veggie just cut it up and put some garlic on it :) They're awesome and so good for you .. dont steam them too long b/c the longer you steam them the more the nutrients escape ... and i use spray butter all over them when i'm done ... low cal goodness!

Awesome, man. Thanks for the info, I will be purchasing one VERY soon.

Also, does anyone have a breakfast they'd suggest or any other change to my current diet plan?
