Celebrating my Fitness Anniversary

Last year, the year I was turning 40, I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid, which had packed 25 lbs on my petite frame.

In September 2004 I vowed to take care of myself, and by my 40th birthday, November 10th, was well on my way as my meds were stabilized and I was working out, eating right, and feeling good.

Now, a year late, I am turning 41, and I proudly report the following:

Calf - went from 14 inches to 13
Thigh - went from 20 inches to 19
Stomach - went from 35 inches to 27
Upper arm - went from 10 1/2 inches to 10
Hips - went from 40 inches to 35

I lost the 25 lbs all right, and I also lost some of my pregnancy weight! (By the way, those babies are finishing their teenage years!)

It's not just that my inches changed - they went from soft flabby inches to hard, muscular inches.

I have muscle definition in my arms and stomach. My legs and glutes look different; stronger & firmer.

I have more energy and feel better, besides looking better. And I never want to go back to those days of lying around and eating (too many) candies!

Sounds awesome! Congrats..An example of what dedication can do. :)
