Sport Cardio Question

Sport Fitness
My basic stats are below, let's assume I'm trying to reduce fat, 95% cardio, 5% weight lifting (when the treadmills/ellipticals are full)

Ok, so, assuming that the fastest I can go on the elliptical is 100% intensity:
1) Lower the intensity enough to get to an hour,
2) 95% intensity for 30 minutes?

This seems to be the few reps/big weights Vs. high reps/smaller weights concept, but applied to cardio. Anyone have any opinions?

Hello again. I think what your trying to ask is this –
Is it better to work at low intensity for a longer period of time, or a high intensity for a long period of time?

The answer is – It is better to work at a high intensity for less time.

95% CV – 5% weights, That’s very strange. How long do you spend working CV?

I do at least 30 minutes per day. I'm working towards 60, but my legs want to fall off after a while. I've just started running on the treadmill some, but my legs get pretty sore still from it, so I can't do it very long yet. As of now, my goal is to do 40 minutes ellipitical and 20 minutes treadmill. I've already bumped the resistance on the elliptical up a considerable amount, so I'm starting to see the point where it won't be very beneficial. It will probably take a while still to get there, but I'm no longer one of the people doing 100 strides a minute with 0 resistance (I'm at 180 strides/minute with 7 resistance). Just for reference, the fastest I can go with no resistance is 220 strides a minute, but I can only average about 205/minute for any length of time.

I actually do see your problem. I had the same thing. Your legs get worn out before you do, yeah?

Its cos your legs are not used to it. Try some lower body strength training like Squats and lunges.

Also try HIIT make sure you use the treadmill 1st, then move on to the X-trainer.
