Cardio question

So far I've done cardio 4 times a week, 30 minutes of biking or 35 minutes Biggest Loser fitness video. This method worked and I lost 55 lbs.

Lately I found this too easy and want to change. My friend lent me a cardio/tone dvd series called "Slim in 6". It lasts 6 weeks and there are 3 levels, 25-45-60 minutes.

It suggests perform them 6 times a week. Isn't that too much? It's not that I can't do it, but I afraid if I hit a plateau later I can't increase the frequency, or when I finish this intensive program the others will be too short/easy and won't work well.

Thanks for any advice :)

I would personally be more worried about injury. Last time I tried to do high impact cardio more than 3x in a week, I got hurt and couldn't exercise for 3 months.

I don't know about Slim in 6, but if it's high impact, I wouldn't recommend it. Otherwise, try it out and see how you keep up. I think it's important to stay just outside your comfort zone, but be wary of overtraining ;-)

Cardio is a weird thing. I hit a plateau very quickly so what I have done that works really good fo me is to have 4 different types of cardio to do.

Ex.

- rowing
- stairs
- biking
- joggin

So on monday I will row, tuesday, stairs, and so on....what this did for me what allow me to not get bored....I hate cardio.....and it does work...im not bored....and it also allowed me to not plateau.

You can do cardio 6 times a week, but just listen to your body and make sure that you really pay attention to it....If you overdo it it can be bad. You shouldnt have problems, but just make sure you get ample rest!
