Cardio quest.

How (speed on treadmill) and how long do I need to do cardio if I want to do cardio 4 times a week?

Also how long do you guys do strength work out (every other day, correct?)

I want to loose 5 pounds. I am 112, 5'2 and 20. They say that you have to do cardio if you want to loose body fat. (I also want to loose 5 pounds). I already know that I should be eating a well balanced meal.
 
Three times per week for a full body strength (i.e., weights) workout and 3 to 5 times per week for cardio is what I try to do. The cardio runs about 30 minutes when on the elliptical, and 45 minutes or so when taking a class like spinning.
 
you don't necessarily need long cardio..30 mins should do it.
sort of two ways to do cardio...short but intense, or long but not very intense.

ie sprints on a track field, vs a long brisk walk up and down hills. i find the long, low intensity works better if you do your cardio first thing in the morning, empty stomach.
if you do your cardio in the evening, do 20-30 mins of varying intensity.
 
You dont have much to lose. I recommend 2x a week for 15 min. with an all out sprint teh last 3 minutes of teh cardio session.
 
do u weight trAIN? it might more be a question of changing shape by changing your bf/lm proportions... in any event...start w/ your diet first to lose 5 lbs...any cardio is better then none but do someething u arent efficient at to really shock your body...fitnessmagazin has a great 8 min cardio workout / lots of plyometrics, burpees, rope jumping,etc. the stai mill is great. and im a fanof hiit.
