carbs before bed for bulking

Anything right before bed is bad, unless it's just a little water. You typically want to go to bed on an empty stomach so you can avoid complications in digestion as well as things like heartburn/acid reflux.
 
If you go to bed on an empty stomach, you'll go into a catabolic state. I always have 2 cups of milk before i go to sleep so the protein is absorbed throughout the night.
 
when you sleep, you're body is in it's most inactive state of the day.
carbs aren't neccessary as your body won't have any need for them.
Its ok to have some carbs, just to give ur body a small supply of energy to rely on, instead of protein.

But the most important thing is for your body to absorb while sleeping is protein, to keep that positive nitrogen balance.
Which is why milk or cottage cheese is ideal.

Pss. Try taking glutamine + ZMA before bed as apart of your bulking routine. You'll be laughin!
 
some carbs before bed is fine. ideally you want protein and fats to sustain you during the night. the majority opinion is that carbs before bed make you fat.

but the majority of ppl are overweight so i wouldnt put much belief in that.
