Can't stop gaining weight!

I'm 18 years old, and I think my metabolism may be slowing down. I keep gaining weight, no matter what I do. I diet and exercise, and still, my pants fit more and more tightly everyday. In fact, I can only fit into one pair of my pants now. I run a mile everyday and try to keep my food intake down, but I still keep gaining. I don't think it's simply a matter of gaining muscle because I've been an athlete (volleyball) for a long time, so I shouldn't be gaining muscle just from running. How do I stop gaining weight? Any adive would be GREATLY appreciated. MORE INFO: I am six feet tall and weigh about 170 lb. I have been trying to eat healthier. I don't drink soda (I haven't had much in the last year or so-maybe one per month, and that's overestimating.) I usually just eat a bowl of cereal for breakfast, a sandwich or a lunchable or something like that for lunch, and then whatever my mom makes for dinner. (I do still live with my parents.) I have cut out snack foods entirely, but I do eat a lot of processed food because my mom does the grocery shopping. For exercise, I have been running a mile a day without much weightlifting except maybe some ab workouts and lunges-things I did for volleyball, which I'm playing next year in college. I am really trying to stay in shape for health, volleyball, and even aesthetic purposes, but most of all just to fit into my pants again! So, hopefully that gives a little more insight, and once again, I would really appreciate any help because I've never really tried to lose weight before.

Do you lift weights? The #1 best thing you can do is start lifting weights. Are you dieting or eating healthy? Dieting is not good, eating healthy is. We need a little more information. All you do is run for exercise? What do you eat on an average day?

More info would be great. It sounds like you may be doing too much and eating too little. That is the perfect equation for fat gain. Post more info and we may be able to offer some better advice.
