I had a little girl 12 weeks ago and I just can't seem to loose any weight! IV put more on since being pregnant, I have been drinking slim fast shakes and taking rasberry ketone tablets? Could anyone help or have any ideas? Thanks x

First of all 'Congratulations'o on your little girl.......There can be lots of reasons why this is so!
So keep it simple, the ultimate formula is.....if you want to loose weight, you Must have the desire. after that the calories 'used or burned in a day' must be more than calories 'consumed (eaten) that day.
But of course in reality it's not that simple......there would be no weight-loss industry, if it were that Simple.

We have to overcome things like......'bad eating habits' (which could include portion size problems, snacking between meals, fast food too often and not enough fruit and veg in our diet) and lack of support from partners and family.

in my experience a great way to start, is to firstly find out where the problem lies.
A food diary is a great tool here......don't buy anything.....just note it down (put it in your phone... we all seem to have one permanently attached to us these days). Every thing that goes into your mouth, note it down.
Make a plan to do it for one day and be meticulous....absolutely everything you eat and drink, for the day.
Now one day may not show you where you could improve, but I'm hoping it might show you that a diary isn't too much trouble.... the real plan is to do it for a week.

After that, if the problem is obvious (too many calories or not enough movement) then Make and stick to a plan.....Get help if you have too. You can't keep to a plan that you haven't got.

I really hate parts of the weight-loss industry that peddle the myth "Oh, it's Not your fault". What BS.
Every day you make decisions about the health and well being of your baby girl, and I'm sure you do it to the best
of your knowledge. Make enough Right choices for your own health and success is assured.

Thank you, I've been eating healthy having salad for dinner with chicken or fish, also haven't been snacking much, my problem is I give up at night and can't help myself dipping into a chocolate bar!

Also I weighs myself this morning and I've lost 2lb :D which is not a lot but its made me happy! I'm going to see how it goes for another week now x

Good on you!!
Just keep at it One week at a time.
Expect to have good and bad days.......just don't let thoes Bad days become the Norm.

Welcome to the forum.

Weight fluctuations of a couple of pounds happen all the time - so you mustnt let it spook you...

When you get on the scales you see the weight of all of you - not just your fat. You see the weight of the food that you have eaten and not got rid of at the toilet or processed. You may be retaining water...

We retain water for a number of reasons. For instance - a lot of women retain water around the time of their period. I know for a fact that I used to get a gain that lasted me for 12 days around the time of my period when I was on my big weight loss project a few years ago... (I am 53 years old now so that does not impact me so much these days - but it was a real annoyance when it happened to 12 days out of every 28 days!!!) My weight used to shoot down for 16 days then go up and be higher for 12 days until it got back to where it had been and shoot down again...

We also often get water retention if we eat more than about 2300mg sodium in the day... This can send our weight up too. Even a low calorie meal can contain a lot of sodium. I often exceed 2300mg sodium without ever adding salt in the cooking or at the table.

We can reduce water retention if we drink lots of water.

My main advice to start with is the following things and build it up from there
drink plenty water
try to cook food in a healthy way
eat more fruit and veg
eat lean protein
put your baby in a pram and go out walking every day - walking is a brilliant form of exercise

I suggest that you read the following thread - it may help you settle in and make friends
