Hey Guys!

I signed up today to raise money for Cancer Research via Weight Loss!

It's called Cancer Challenge!
Your only allowed to use things you have so no gym memberships etc but lucky for me I have Wii and a Stepping machine which I can use since I already have them

I have until Midnight on the 21st of the month to lose as much weight as I can but in a healthy way!

So today I have thrown out all my sugary pops and bought dilute no added sugar drinks.
Also bought some small 250ml bottles of pure orange juice to have one each morning with some Porridge which is also pure nothing added and I will make it with water.

Also bought some meal replacement shakes which I tried one today and I really enjoy!!!!! I was shocked how much I like them and at 200 cals per drink I can have a few

Also booked 9 days off work so I can focus on this fully but I was told not to do this purely cause I will get bored so I need to do other daily stuff I enjoy, DVDs etc

I could really do with some advice from you guys on this it's for a really good cause and I really need some support from you lot for this!
Please

Good job! sounds like you have the right idea! To loose the best amount read some of the sticky threads. Try keeping calories around 1200-1500 if you can (but no lower than 1200) and make sure you have a lot of veg in there as well as some protein (meat or low fat yog etc)

it's the 16th now and you only have until the 21st, Is that right? if so, all I can say is good luck to you but you're not seriously going to lose any more than about one pound.

it can be difficult sometimes to see any weight loss in the first week, this was my experience and I hear it over and over again which is why I said maybe one pound for somebody just starting out, no offence intended.
If you have until 22nd of next month then you could maybe lose 14 pounds if you train a lot but it's not easy, which is why many of use have failed in the past.
Just as an example and were all different, I'm currently on about 1200 calories and I'm doing 2 hours of cardio exercise each day and I'm only averaging 3 pounds weight loss each week.
Anyway its an excellent thing to support cancer charities and I wish the the best of luck

Good for you!!

I think the others on here have some great advice!

It's a wonderful thing you're doing- but don't get discouraged if you're not reaching your weightloss goals- it's hard to lose weight, and sometimes it's not an instant thing! If you're training (which you should, building muscles helps you burn more when you're resting), you'll be gaining muscles weight but dropping fat weight...

Keep it up! I think the best things to do are (1) drink lots of water, (2) eat fresh produce and clean protein, cooked (steamed, baked) by you with minimal ingredients, (3) get exercise in there (both cardio and strengthening)!

Good luck! And keep us updated!!!
