Can exercise now, but it's going to get harder soon

Well long story short, I live in the dorms right now and during Christmas holidays, I am going back to my parent's house. I currently have a gym in the basement of the dorms that I am going to start using, but once I go home for break, not only will I not have the equipment, but I am getting knee surgery and will be on crutches for a few weeks and a brace for a few months. Any ideas of what to do to keep going and keep myself from wanting to indulge too much during the holidays?

Personally, I would say use that time to recuperate and just watch what you're eating. Nevertheless, I'm sure you'll have to do some rehab therapy. If you ask your doctor I'm sure he could prescribe some exercises for you that would not damage your knee. Perhaps concentrating on weights and the upper body would be the way to go.

I may be able to do weights and whatnot, but my stomach is one of my main concerns and I don't know if I'll even be able to do sit-ups.

I have already been through physical therapy for my knee and have a set of exercises that I do to keep my knees healthy in particular. (I have had knee problems since right before sixth grade, it's not a new development, really.)

I am going to try, like you said, to watch what I eat very carefully over the holidays and during the time I can't exercise (no sure how long exactly I will be out, they said 4 to 6 months for a full recovery, but I'm sure I'll be able to gradually get back into things before then.).. I just don't know how much progress I'll see by only watching what I eat as I am a fairly healthy eater already.
