Hi everyone!
I am a stay at home mom of two boys ages one and six. I have been married for seven years . . . but we have been living apart since 2/05 because the military has sent him to Monterey, California for school. I was doing great losing weight slowly but surely after my son was born, but this last month with my oldest in kindergarten and me left with so much free time. . .I have gained 15#'s!!! I have done ediets many times, and it has great results. . . but I am really tired of spending all that money. I have the tools to lose weight; I just need the motivation and support. So, my starting weight today is 197 and my first goal is to lose 15# by Thanksgiving when my husband comes home for a visit.

Glad to be here and ready to meet some other great people who are looking to change all those bad habits.

Hi everyone,
I started in this thread before I really looked around all the sites. I just want to say that there are so many great words of wisdom in everyone’s posts, and I love all the positive reinforcement. This week I have done really well making sure I am drinking enough water. I have done a good job of writing all the foods down and figuring out my calorie intake . . . my downfall is coffee with creamer. I am a mocha addict, yet I have almost gone two weeks without buying one. But, when I am at home, I drink at least a pot of coffee a day. I try to cut back, but then I get the most horrible headaches . . . I must say, that unless I am pregnant I have a hard time giving anything up.

Welcome to the forum family! If you're looking for support & motivation - then you at the right place. ;) I am a white chocolate mocha addict during the winter months so I know how you feel. This is going to be my first winter where I really need to watch that. Maleficent gave some great advice - when you want a little splurge - just ask for a 'short' (at Starbucks anyway) it's smaller than a tall and cheaper too. As for the pot o' coffee a day - just cut it back slowly. No one says you can't have it just pull it back a bit to one or two cups in the morning and that's it for the day. As successful diet doesn't cut out the things you love - just keeps them in moderation and within calories.

Good Luck & you CAN do this!!!!! :D:D:D

Thank you!!! I know I love white mocha's and I had one yesterday, only a 12oz!!!! Better than my regular 24oz. Today I only filled my coffee pot with enough for two cups. I know it is all about moderation, and I have done fairly well this last week. Thank you for the encouragement!

Great job putting a limiting factor on your coffe intake. Taking that first step of portion control is one of the best things to do first. Great job! keep up the good work!
