Like does anyone know the true way to work out how many calories your body needs every day to maintain itself? I've heard loads of different ones, including multiply your body weight in lbs by 10, and multiply your body weight by 14. And I've used various online calculators.. I've got different results every time ranging from 1200 to 2000 calories and I just want to know the truth!!! Anyone know?

Somewhere on this message board I remember reading something lie 13 or 14 cals per pound to maintain your current weight. Please correct me if I am mistaken :) ((I probably am...but probably close))

There are tons of threads on here discussing this. I know I've spent the time to discuss the various methods.... which I think has been stickied.

Go through the stickies, and def. check out one in particular called "words of wisdom."

If you still have questions, feel free to ask away.

In general though, the simplest method will be 14-16 calories per pound. But it's not a hard-fast rule.
