Calories burned versus obtained

Hey guys

I have been working out everyday for about 5 months as well as cutting my calories down to abour 1500 per day. I was just wondering about the calories I burn because by running for 30 minutes I burn about 450 calories and i bike 10-15 minutes burning 100 calories approximately. I also do abs and an arm workout with my total workout time being about 2 hours. I have lost 27 lbs so far going from 5'5 and 169 pounds to 5'5 at 142 lbs. I still want to lose about 20 more pounds to maintain at 120-125. I was just wondering though how many calories you burn in a typical day without working out. I am in college and thus walk everywhere, but I was just wondering how many calories I should burn at the gym so that calories burned is more than the calories I eat/drink. Thanks for your help!

thats kind of a trick question. Actual calories burned in the gym is misleading. The calories that lead to fat loss are not really burned in the gym. (Dont get me wrong, whatever hard work you do in the gym helps), the calories are really burned by you putting your metabolism in overdrive. Take me for example. Im 259 right now (lost another one, yay :D). Sedentary I should burn 2500 calories a day. Since I work out 4 times a week and do cardi 6 in conjunction with martial arts, I burn almost 3600 a day when Im constantly working out. Remember this also, your body gets used to a routine and weight loss can stop (or plateau). THrow it a curve every once in a while. Get a quarter pounder from Mcdonalds, have that fudge sunday. But only do it once a week or once every two weeks. If you continue on what your doing, you can get to where you want to be. Just dont give up. :D
