Im not to sure about a goal but just to lose a pound or 2 pounds a week until im at a weight that I think is good for my figure.

You're 13 years old...you don't have a figure yet.

x2

Your body is still in a transitional stage. If you were 13, 5'4" and 200lbs then looking to lose some weight would probably be a good idea.. but no doctor is going to tell a 13yr old who has your stats to lose some weight. Just let your body grow up a bit more and I'm sure in 2 or 3 more years you'll see some drastic (but good) changes.

As I've mentioned in some PMs, Liam, you should be concentrating on getting in shape and eating healthily more than losing pounds.

At your age, your body is still growing and restricting calories too much is not a good idea.

The working out you've been doing, and making sure you limit junk food and sodas and things like that will work towards helping you build a healthy body.

Thats what i meant to say i dont have a goal i just want to get rid of these BLOODY man boobs !! sigh

EDIT

Also im getting bit annoyed as everyone on here seems to say i should try and lose weight at 13 you will grow out of it.. sorry for the language but BULLSHIT..
i dont want to spend the next 3-4 years as a chubby kid..... sorry

Liam ... I know you think it's bullshit, but factually, it's not. At 13 you're still transitioning from a kid to a teen ... and your body DOES have baby fat still. I know that probably embarrasses you and you don't want to hear it, but it's the truth. You could diet and workout until the cows come home, but it's not going to get rid of that baby fat.

This is one of the reasons I think it's sad that young kids are so over-exposed to the idea of the "perfect" body at such a young age.

I think it's GREAT that you want to learn to eat healthy and workout. I think at 13, you're at a GREAT age to learn that - and you're way ahead of most kids your age just by being interested. The knowledge you learn now will help you to NOT be a chubby teen.

I know when you're 13 that it seems like everything needs to happen right now. :) I know that you're impatient. I remember. But there are some things that you just can't change - and unfortunately this is one of them.

136 lbs is NOT overweight at your height and age. It really isn't.

Breathe, hon, and give it time. This is why I wanted you to post more to the board ... the more people who tell you the exact same thing, the more you'll believe it, eventually.

Work out. Exercise. Learn to build those muscles that are developing. That's what I've been telling you in PM - run, walk, do pushups, ride your bike, squat, lunge ... those things will insure that as the baby fat comes off, you'll be revealing strong muscles that you've built.

then focus on exercise. namely resistance training. don't worry about diet and trying to lose weight.

How can you have man boobs when you're not even a man yet? Kid, you're 13 years old (unless you're really a 47 year old loser who thinks it's funny to pose as a kid on a weight loss forum) - your body is going to go through changes whether you like it or not. It doesn't matter what you eat and it doesn't matter how active you are...your body is going to grow and shrink at it's own will for the most part.

People, especially me, are reminding you of your age because it has EVERYTHING to do with your so-called weight problem (by the way, 138 lbs isn't fat for a 13 year old).

You're 13 years old - you shouldn't be worried about your weight. You should be busy playing Nintendo and sneaking peaks at the bra adds in Sears catalogs.

Thanks for all the replies.... I know that its because im young but its so hard for me to just accept the fact that im going to have to wait but I keep thinking surely if i exercise it will go... I just dont know

I'm going to say "I told you so". :)

You do NOT have manboobs ... or moobs ... or anything else. You have a perfectly normal 13 year old boy's body. You don't have rolls, or sags, or anything that isn't perfectly NORMAL for someone your age.

I promise. :) Really and truly. Trust me on this one. Every guy on here will probably tell you the same.

Honestly you have nothing to be ashamed of. If you continue to learn healthy eating habits and to work out properly, you won't have anything to worry about in the future either.

But kara,, when i sit down its bad .... and there is an amount of fat around the chest area.... its pudgy LOL .. i can feel it..when i sit down... Rolls...chubby belly chubby chest!! Lol....i just cant see how you keep saying it isnt that bad when i dont like it.

EDIT

Okay more proof this is bad btw so you may want protective goggles I actually feel bad looking at this pic. :( :( :(

NOW I HOPEFULLY PROVE U WRONG looooool

Everyone has rolls when they sit down. :) I promise.

There is nothing wrong with your body. It is perfectly normal. Really.

Hello there SS, how are you tonight?

Hope you don't mind me chiming in, because I am about to. =D

First off I want to second what everyone else has told you. Chill about the actual weight at your age. Forge healthy eating habits now so you aren't over 30 and still working on it later. Like uh.....a....buddy of mine. :whistles innocently: And stick with the exercise- resistance training is great on so many different levels and good cardio is happy heart and lungs. Nuff said there, right?

Okay, my second of the two cents I wish to kick in is this- have you considered the possibility of an impending growth spurt? In middle school I spent a year or so chubby enough that it disgusted me. I had been playing soccer since 3rd grade and ate mostly okay with some junky snacks, but it wasn't like my eating patterns were new.

But I still packed on fat until my butt was chubby enough to jiggle behind me one day as I played an arcade fighter rather vigorously. Street Fighter if it matters. It was revolting. That summer though, I shot up in the only real growth spurt I ever had and was big enough my freshman year that nobody thought I was a freshman and old grade school bullies steared clear.

So you are at the mercy of a rapidly changing physical structure and fluxing hormones which are a big deal. Deal with what you can control, which is those good habits, and you will be much happier and well off down the road.

God bless ya mang, and good luck.

P.S. I meant to quote Kara's comment about baby fat. Dude, I can still see the stuff on my 23 and 24 year old apartment manager and maintenance lead.

Beautifully said, Kara.

I can't think of anything else to add except to say "SecondSight, listen to Kara".
