calisthenics - more than once/day okay?

Hey guys. Recently, I've been doing calisthenics several times a week, largely partly to help build endurance when playing my drums (and just to be more active)

What I wanted to know is if it's not a good idea to do stuff more than once in a day? Some people who've published their own experience on websites have said that they do many, many push-ups (example excercise, i dont JUST do push-ups) and i figured, would that help condition my body more quickly?

Im patient, I don't expect to have noticeable results when I wake up tomorrow, but for example today is a quiet day... what if later on today I did a second session of excercises?

I've done lots of research on how to eat properly so that doesnt worry me, what worries me is if I start regularly doing more than one session per day, when I'm able to, that it could hurt me and not be any more helpful to my body.

I mean, some people claim they do as many as 1000 push-ups a day. There's no way they are physically able to do this all in one session (as far as I would think)

Thanks!

physically they are able. but thats becuase they will have very bad form or they might be using their hands to help them shoot upwards or they are just screwing around
but dont worry about 1000000000push up a night, they aer just wasting their time and they can possible get worse

Well i think you should be able to do 2 sessions but if they are intense muscle building ones i tink you might not have enough energy or your muscles may be tired from the 1st session.

i dont think u need 2 do two sessions.

Yeah, I thought the high numbers sounded a little bit much.

Im not trying to focus on musle gain, not for visual appeal, anyway, but today i did two session and I actually quite enjoyed it. I found doing them with enough space in between to rest but not ALL day, it actually helped keep me in a better mood with more energy.

Not that I was doing bad before I started calisthenics, but I notice an improvement when I do that much activity a few days a week.

And my muscles are showing the work (nothing noticeable to anyone else, you knwo how you just know what you look like?) but Im not feeling excessively sore or tired after, probably thanks to the proper stretching.

Anyways, for anyone else reading this, my point is: I generally agree with his reply... don't get too worried about gaining muscle or strength to the poiint of really working your muscles THAT much (1000x/day)
