the one where you stand on the stairs facing in and drop heal off stretching your calf.....
That's a good one. The university gym I used to go to had a million of these little incline things you could stand on and stretch your calves. They worked very well.
Calves are a weird muscle, they don't respond the same as other muscles. Mine always cramp up.
I actually have problems with the bottom of my foot (hence that particular link).
I broke my arch bone some years ago, have flat feet, use to run 10 miles a day, use to be on my feet *all* day, and between that and the scar tissue that formed I get quite a bit of pain there at times.....
so I *love* that exercise...lol it does wonders![]()
Ow....
I seriously thought about getting one of those wedge things for my home gym, but then I remembered that I have at least one stair in my house, thus negating the need for the wedge.
the "key" element in a "static" calve stretch is to breath and relax and hold the stretch long enough for you mind to relax, and actually "let it go"
try it... just lean forward on your calve and give it a good 2 minutes of stretch. So, instead of forcing the "static" stretch, sink into it
