First off, let me introduce myself...Hi, I'm Shandy. welcome to my little corner of the forum. I'll start off by answering the typical questions, then see where I end up.
-- How much weight do you want to lose?I've got a total goal of 65lbs to loose, but I've already lost 25 or so, so I'm part way there. in all honesty, it's less a matter of wanting to loose the weight, more a matter of me wanting to fit into my normal clothes again.
-- What is the timeframe for reaching your target weight? it's incredibly unrealistic, but I'm aiming for October of this year. that gives me 3 months. not gonna be able to loose 30+ pounds in 3 months. but I'm wanting to be as close to my goal as possible by then.
-- How do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)? Well, there aren't a whole lot of options available to me other than watching what I eat and getting in some kind of activity when my kids let me. I've got a 21 month old, and a 2 week old (both girls) so it's hard to find the time to brush my hair, let alone get any actual workouts in.
-- Who or what can support you in reaching your goal? Most of my support is going to be from my own critical outlook on how I look. My husband(gotta love him) thinks I look great for a mother of 2. So he's not much help in pushing me to get off my butt. And other than him, I'm not really in contact with many people on a regular basis over the age of 2. and no matter how much their opinion means to me, my kids aren't old enough to tell me to put down the cookie and pick up some weights.
-- How realistic is your goal? I think my goal is VERY realistic. my time-table might be a little outrageous, but that's okay by me. I'm aiming for 130 lbs. that's what I used to weigh after my first daughter was born so I know I can get there even after having a kid. and it's 5 lbs heavier than I was before I got pregnant the first time, so it's not like I'm trying to recapture my high school days.
-- When will you start? I started keeping track of what I eat the Monday after my second daughter was born, so June 11th. I won't be actively cutting calories or seriously working out until sometime in mid July(have to wait for the Dr's okay first) but until then I figured I'd keep track of what I'm eating, and hopefully cut the junk out.
So, now that those questions are answered and out of the way, here comes the required narrative story....
I'm (soon to be) 22 years old. not OVERweight, just not "normal" I'm getting ready to celibrate my 3rd anniversary with my husband this August, and celebrate my oldest daughter's second birthday in October. When I got married I was a tiny toned 125lbs. not too skinny for my 5'5" frame, and anything but too big. I'd have to say I was just about "perfect"(in my mind at least
) at that weight. Then I got pregnant. gained 53 lbs.
scary thought for me. But, with the help of a wonderful babysitter, and my husband being deployed for 6 months(lots of time on my hands) I was able to get back down to 130lbs within 8 months. however when Matt got back home, I stopped going to the gym, and started eating anything he wanted me to cook(pizza most nights
) 3 months later I had gained back 10lbs and gotten pregnant again. As of June 6th (the day my second daughter was born) I had gained 50 lbs again.
So now, here I am, 163lbs as of last monday hoping to loose another 33lbs by October. unrealistic, but it's what I'm aiming for.
Why October? well, it's the first time in 2 years that 99% of my friends and family will see me. I want their first reactions to be "wow, you look great!" not "I see the baby weight is still hanging on"
So there you have it. that's me, and my weight issues in a nutshell. if anyone has actually sat through and read all of this, wow.
