Busy Schedule - Can't Follow Diet

Hi everyone, For the past 2 weeks I've been trying to lose at least 10-20 lbs in a matter of a month (yes, I know it's an unhealthy goal so I'm hoping at least a lose of 5-7 lbs). Ever since I've started working out and having changed my diet I have been on an internship for a pharamacy technician which requires me to work from late afternoon (4PM) to late at night (10PM). I've read that it's better to eat 5-6 smalls meals a day rather than 3 large ones. I can eat twice during the day before I go to work but it's during work when I can't snack or eat dinner, so when I get home I end up eating a large late meal. Does someone have any advice as to what I can do to prevent me eating that late meal? Or how I can snack while I'm at work? Any help/advice would be great. Thank you.

Here's some info on my internship site:
  • I have no access to a fridge or a microwave, so I guess my food has to be something that can stay at room temperature.
  • I usually take my lunch around 7PM to 8PM. But there are some days when the pharmacy is really busy that I have no break at all.
  • My breaks are 30 minutes long.

I would suggest getting a lunchbox and some ice packs so that you're not just limited to room temperature foods. Try to eat breakfast, lunch, and your dinner before work. Breakfast when you wake up, lunch at 11, and dinner at 2 or 3. Then take things for a snack on your break. If you don't go to bed until 12, maybe you can have some fruit or veggies when you get home.

Hi, you could try protein - fills you up for longer. Fresh salad usually keeps in an airtight container for several hours and you could add a tin of tuna when you need to eat.

I'm also on a 'fast' loss goal despite knowing long term it isn't good. I always have been a last minute type of person! My theory is as long as you can make a quick start it will give you the motivation to keep it up albeit at a slower pace later.

Good Luck!

Wow, I didn't know salad was still good after a few hours of no refrigeration. Good to know. I totally understand what you mean, I too am always a last minute person and I believe that a quick start is better motivation. Thanks for the tip!
