Buffet Woes...

I could just kick myself in my pa-too-tee!!! What was I thinking??? I have been doing so INCREDIBLY well on my diet lately and at the last minute tonight, I end up at a buffet for dinner! WHAT???? Yeah...a Buffet...that should be a four-letter word right there! ...at least in my vocabulary. Of course, I was taken off guard and didn't plan my buffet attack well and had some of this and some of that...yes..."this" was fried food and "that" was dessert. I hadn't eaten junk like that in a while and I came home with my stomach killing me. Serves me right! Man...I think I am starting to really hate buffets!

Heya's Bep,
Sorry about your run in with the buffett we have
quite a few around here that are yummy and my hubby wanted to
go to one a couple weeks ago and he said I can just eat veggies
and all you can eat baked chciken"yeah right and walk by the desert
bar and fried chciken mash potatoes mac and cheese smoked sausages!
So we didn't go but if we do it will definatley have to be early and
a cheat day! You'll pick back up and be ok!Have a better day tomorrow!

bep,
yeah, I hit the buffet hard last weekend. They really do a number on ya, but don't beat yourself up too much. I'm finding it's kind of benificial to fall every now and again. Yeah, I know, sounds wierd, but it helps put things into perspective... well, at least for me anyways.

Keep up what you're doing, your doing great!

I'm always tempted by a chinese/japanese one near my house. Luckily, I've managed to not go there since I started my diet, but if and when I break down and do go, I'll just eat sushi until I'm stuffed and then get one spoonful of everything else. I used to gain about 6 lbs after I went to that place lol... sesame chicken, shish ka bobs, stir fry, you name it, ugh I better stop thinking about it

Last weekend I got taken out on a staff do and treated to an all-u-can-eat Chinese buffet. (Chinese being my favourite!)

Uh-oh.

Luckily I'm not big on meat at all, so I ended up filling up on noodles and vegetable rice... the only thing that was really that offending to my diet was the sweet and sour sauce I had a little of.

Thankfully I'm not a desert person at all, I rarely eat anything like that normally so I don't get tempted at all on my diet at all.

I'd just fill up on potato and pasta if I had my way. :D

buffet blues

Yeah, living in the Buffet capital of the world isn't easy (Las Vegas), I just try to eat a couple healthy choices first (chicken, lean steak, veggies/rice) Then get a couple of faves, and a small amount of dessert. (They have a chocolate fondue fountain at one of them, damn)

there was some article i read the other day on "surviving christmas' where the suggestion on dealing with buffets was to scope out the entire thing first and then have the things you wouldn't normally eat - (the example given was chocolate chip cookies are ordinary and not a special treat - have what's a treat)
