BringingIt for my wedding in August 2012!

Contrary to normal stereotypes, I am a male trying to get in shape for my wedding! I live an active lifestyle, but my body does not show it because my portion control and what I actually eat are hard to account for. It needs to stop, so I started eating healthier last week. I used to eat all organic when I cooked at home (I do this to stray away from anything Monsanto related, but thats another topic) and now I try to do it as often as possible.

I an in a soccer league every thursday and friday night, I go hiking, play ping pong religiously, ride bikes all the time, just alot of activity in general. I am also in nursing school working towards my RN license, so time is strapped and meals always are not the best.

I started p90x 3 days ago, and man is it tough. I am sore in place I didnt even know muscles existed! I am loving it though, it is great to start feeling this feeling again. Two years ago I went to switzerland, and before that I was working out like crazy. When my fiance and I went to Switzerland, I got a two week break from reality, and I lost motivation. I ate what I wanted, did what I wanted, and just lost control. It has taken me two years to gain the weight back, but here I am, ready to do it again. I plan to run a 5k by summer, and a 10k by fall. My wedding is also in August, so besides the lifestyle change to promote health awareness, this thread is for that. I weigh in at 222 lbs right now, and want to get somewhere between 160-170lbs! Hope you enjoy!

First of all... your dogs are adorable haha

Good luck with weight loss and getting healthy, I am sure you will look awesome on your wedding day, I know it is easier said than done but try and stay focused and take full advantage of this site, there are some great motivators and a good support system on here.

I'll look forward to seeing your progress.

P.S try not to beat yourself up about splurging, tomorrows another day

Thanks for the support! My dogs are great companions, I love them, sometimes more than human beings, as they cannot talk back to you, and they just want to give all their time and attention to you.

My wedding is about six months away, and I am on the right track, so hopefully everything falls into place. I am not too worried about splurging, but doing it everyday is how I got to where I am, portion control and output vs input are the things I really need to focus on. Thanks for the kind words!

Good luck to you!! Nursing school is a diet killer though, so I hope you can swing it! I gained 25.. yes TWENTY FIVE pounds in a year in LPN school after I had lost 80, now going back for my RN. I lost 10 of the 25, but going back in to nursing school makes me cringe. =/ If you can lose weight in nursing school, you can do anything! LOL!! Best of luck to you!!!!

It is already a struggle, trying to find time to cook, all the study groups who want to go out to eat, all of it! Im trying though!

It is so cute that you want to lose weight for your wedding!! I am rooting for you. I am sure you will see results quick since you are a guy...meh ;-)
