Hey

So glad I stumbled upon this forum. Seems super fun and motivating and full of helpfull tools (and peeps :waving: )

I am 33 yrs old, a mom to two amazing lil boys (ages 5 and 2) and I work at a therapeutic day school for kids with emotional/behavior disorders. I have struggled (ups and downs) with my weight for the last several years, but early this year hit my all time high (non-pregnancy) weight of 212. I hate seeing pics of myself and find myself avoiding photo ops with my kids (which is awful cuz I love taking pics and scrapbooking but there are few pics of me. :blush5:

Anyway. I started excercising and "somewhat" aka "half-assed" dieting about a month ago, then I get the news that I have to have my Gallbladder removed.

WTF?? ok, so long story short, that was last week, and it was painful (still recovering...ouch!!) BUT...The nausea/unmentionables as recovery side effects have given me a good opportunity to jump start mt metabolism/eating habits.

Weighed in this AM at 202. Very excited b/c to be back in the 1somethings has been my first mini goal for some time now. I have a long way to go....goal of 155 (47lbs). My husband and I are taking a cruise this summer (not sure of exact dates yet) AND I live in a community that has a private swimming pool and lots of MILFS, so the heat is on to get back in shape!!

I want to be confident this year, not doing the sprint for the towel!! Once doc clears me I will get back to working out and want to try Birsham Yoga (Hot Yoga). There's one by me in St. Charles and it sounds cool.

Soo.....glad to be part of this community. Thats a lil bout me.

Ciao!!

Welcome to the community.

Wow, that job must be busy. From what I hear from teachers, there are a lot of problematic children, emotionally speaking. That's an important job you have there.

My suggestions include focus on the steps required to meet your goal more than the goal itself, devise a plan for exercise and nutrition but be flexible, and make sure your reasons for doing this are of the type that will help you stick this out for the long term.

I don't like to look at this as a succeed or fail proposition. That suggests there's an end. '

And there isn't. Not for permanent fat loss anyways.

Best to you.

Welcome to this WONDERFUL site!! Stay focused, know you can do this & that you deserve it! I have totally been where you are. My highest weight was 211. I joined this site at 162.2 & I am now at 156. It's a lot of hard work, but definitely WORTH IT!!
